Kerrigan Clark is an MSMS junior who was born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi. Her personal interests include painting, photography, reading and going on cruises.

She also enjoys listening to music. “The music I listen to varies, but I enjoy old R&B, mainly the 80s, and I sometimes enjoy country music. I enjoy Elevation worship music and Hillsong worship,” Clark stated.

Although Kerrigan has not decided where she wants to go to college, her future plans includes becoming a double major in English and political science. “I plan to work as a political consultant,” Clark said.

During her free time, her favorite television shows include “A Different World” and “Murder, She Wrote.”

Clark says she is inspired by her family and hope to inspire others as they inspire her. “Being happy is what inspires me. I know that through all of this hard work something good is going to come out of it and eventually as I said it will all pay off.  My family also inspires me.  I know that I have a younger sibling and younger cousins that are looking up to me and I have to do the best that I can to make them proud and set a good example,” Clark explained.

Clark has strengths in English and history, while her weaknesses are in math and science, despite the fact that she attends the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. “But I have learned that I have to use every opportunity here and my math and my science skills have improved while I have been here,” Clark said.

She feels that MSMS is a great place and opportunity, and though the workload can sometimes be overwhelming, Clark knows that it will all pay off. “

I came to MSMS because I knew that it would give me a better opportunity than what my home school was giving me.

.  My home school was not challenging me at all and I knew that if I came to MSMS I would be surrounded by people and teachers that would work with me and that would also help me to be my best,” Clark explained.
