RA Mallory Wooldridge: A New Light in Goen Hall

Jessica Morton, Staff Writer

Mallory Wooldridge is currently a junior majoring in Biology at the Mississippi University for Women who brought her upbeat spirit here to the Mississippi School for Math and Science as a Residential Assistant. When she is not in class, she can be found helping maintain life in Goen Hall.

Recently Mallory Wooldridge joined the MSMS family as a R.A. in Goen Hall.

Wooldridge hails from the East Central region of Mississippi in the town of Meridian. She first learned about this job through her mother and because she is very open to new opportunities, it seemed like a perfect fit. Soon enough, Wooldridge became the new Resident Assistant on 4th West and is having the time of her life.

She believes it is important to try new and different job experiences because it develops key skills such as teamwork and communication.

When asked, “What parts of this job do you find most enjoyable?” She responded with, “I like meeting new people, and I think it’s fun because there are so many different kinds of people here, so it helps like me work with others also.”

Not only did Wooldridge meet many interesting MSMS students, she also met a fellow Resident Assistant who made a significant impact on her life.

“It’s actually really fun, and I got to meet one of my best friends here, Sandy,” Wooldridge said.

Wooldridge explains that when they met, they automatically clicked. When she’s not on duty, she spends much of her time with Sandy at school activities and having fun.

When asked, “What is one of your favorite memories here so far?” She laughed and replied, “Oh, that’s really hard, probably when the fire alarm went off for an hour and a half, and we just played hangman in the office.”

Wooldridge fondly cherishes moments like these during her time here in Goen Hall.

Her co-workers also had plenty of wonderful comments to share about her and her outgoing personality.

“She is very bubbly and outgoing,” says Ms. Lexi, “She’s fun to be around, a joy.”

Ms. Alisen Reed says, “She’s great. I love her energy. She fills up the room, and she’s hilarious… hilarious!”

My challenge to you all is to get to know Ms. Mallory and witness her wonderful personality for yourselves. You will not regret it.
