This is the phenomenon, “After”, written by Anna Todd.

Can you ever truly live happily ever after?

The author of acclaimed Wattpad story brings this into question in her mesmerizing and riveting story, “After.”

“After” shows chart-topping ratings on Wattpad, so it was revised into the book and released by the publishing company Simon and Schuster October 21, 2018.

This book looks into a life of Tessa “Theresa” Young, a freshman in college who essentially lives a quiet and put together life, but this is soon interrupted by a bad guy, Hardin Scott.

This ultimately causes Tessa to ask herself if she should keep risking it with Hardin or stay with her loving boyfriend, who was also her high school sweetheart.

The book earned so much attention that it has been crafted into the movie, “After,” which was released on April 12, 2019.

So, you might be asking what all the buzz is about with this story? Is this book actually good? Is it worth all the hype?

Well, I can certainly answer that for you. The novel starts off really good, but it soon turns cringe-worthy after the discovery that the book was originally a One Direction fan fiction story.

When it comes down to it, “After” is a riveting novel about a girl stuck between two worlds.

One world where she wants to please her loving boyfriend and  mother and the other where she essentially hangs out with people her family at home wouldn’t approve. Even though Tessa knows the potential danger she if putting herself in by being associated with Hardin, she felt herself being drawn in each day by the lures of Hardin and his friends. More importantly, she feels herself falling victim to the charms of Harding Scott every day.

Bestselling author Anna Todd, really ensures the readers of this book a great time and a good time spender. She was able to keep my attention and maintain it through the whole book. Many times I found myself opening the book and sitting down reading and forgetting that I had a test the very next day. I would honestly read this book again if the opportunity presented itself, the best three days of my life.
