Teacher Spotlight: Dr. Robert Grier
September 18, 2017
Dr. Robert Grier, born and raised in South Carolina, is a new faculty member at MSMS in 2017. For as long as he can remember, Grier always had a love of science.
“I always knew I wanted to go into a scientific field,” Grier explained.
Still, however, he was unsure what exactly he wanted to specialize in, be it biology, chemistry, or physics. Eventually, however, he decided that he had a true curiosity for the first, and graduated from the University of South Carolina in biology. He later went on to complete a doctorate program in experimental pathology at USC as well.
Grier has over twenty years of teaching experience, having taught at various colleges and universities around the country. He learned about MSMS when a job advertisement was put up, and became very interested in learning about the school.
“MSMS is truly a unique school; the students are much more serious about learning,” expressed Grier. “I love working with bright students.”
Grier is also learning about his new home, and has enjoyed visiting the Tennessee Williams House the most, since Williams has always been one of his favorite authors.
