The Animanga Club has held its first interest meeting for the 2017-2018 school year.

The club meeting began with the officers introducing themselves: President Yousef Abu-Salah, Secretary Sage Schaumberg, and unofficial mascot MacKenzie Wilson were among those present.  The club’s faculty sponsor is Nisa Moody.

This is Mrs. Moody’s second year sponsoring the Animanga Club. “I wanted to sponsor the club because I feel like none of the other faculty know what anime is or care enough to learn about it,” she remarked.

Abu-Salah elaborated on the purpose of the club, stating that the club was there to “watch anime, read manga, and discuss both.”

After introductions were over, the club voted on which anime to begin watching. “Boku no Hero Academia” won over “One-Punch Man.” The club collectively watched the first two episodes of the former for the remaining time of the meeting.

Those attending were enthusiastic about watching the episodes. “I like anime because I think it’s really cool!” remarked junior Alan Elgin, epitomizing the enthusiasm of the members.

The Animanga Club hopes to poll members as to what anime to watch over the remainder of the school year, and possibly read and discuss various member-suggested manga as well.
