Students Travel to Germany, Austria and Switzerland
March 27, 2017
Over Spring Break, students, family, and friends journeyed on the trip to explore Germany and the Alps, an EF Educational Tour. Specifically, students traveled to Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
Days one and two were mostly used for traveling to Germany.
On day three of the trip students were given a tour of Rothenburg, a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken, the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany, and traveled to Munich where they would stay for two days and be given tours of several tourist destinations.
“It’s a beautiful city. If there’s one word to describe Munich, it’s beautiful city. Or two words, beautiful city,” junior Tanner Miley said.
On day six, they visited the Neuschwanstein Castle and traveled to Lucerne.
“It was interesting to see the prince’s self obsession and greed depicted in such tangible ways: sculptures, paintings, and furniture all expertly crafted to honor his own ego,” said senior Dustin Dunaway, on touring the Neuschwanstein Castle.
Throughout day eight they traveled through the Black Forest and the Rhine Falls to Heidelberg, were given a tour of Heidelberg, and visited the Heidelberg Castle wine barrel.
The Spring Break trip is an annual expedition to a different country and continent, which is open to both juniors, seniors, friends and family.
This year’s chaperones were Ms. Heintz and Ms. Barham of the social studies and music departments, respectively.
