The MSMS Tennis Team began the 2017 season with away matches at Winona and Starkville. On Thursday, March 2, MSMS faced Winona High School and on Friday, March 3, MSMS faced Starkville High School.

Against Winona, all five doubles teams defeated their opponents. Against Starkville, David Thaggard won in singles 6-2 and 6-3. Daniel Leetran and Brent Styles won in doubles 5-7, 6-4, and 10-8.

“I’m super excited about the team this year. We have a lot of talent, and I cannot wait to show it more on the court. One thing is for sure: we need crowd support at the matches, so tell everyone to come on out,” said Morgan Dollar, team captain, senior.

“Starting the tennis season was pretty exciting. My personal match went pretty well against Starkville. I was a little mad about the match getting cancelled earlier this week because I didn’t get to play at home,” said David Thaggard, junior.
