Starring: Keanu Reeves, Thomas Sadoski, Bridget Moynahan

Acting: Keanu Reeves is brilliant; he plays the part of John Wick just incredibly, and that’s all you ever need. While he is not the best dramatic actor in Hollywood, he is certainly one of the most skilled, and this is put on full display in his incredible fighting scenes. The sheer brilliance of some of these choreographed scenes is just beautiful, and Reeves, as well as his two other stuntmen, own it. The rest of the cast is great as well, acting as more of an outlet for more focus to be put on John Wick instead of truly having a developed story for each of them. The best of these is Ares (Ruby Rose), a mute sidekick who conveys pleasantries in sign language that are just plain diabolical.

Plot: The movie picks up right after the last one ended, with John Wick coming out of retirement to assassinate a target. After the story is set for the movie, the violence begins, and it truly is sweet. As John Wick begins his task, he visits varied locations, killing countless people at a time. Also, this time the movie lacks the needless killing of animals to satisfy its bloodlust, instead raising the body count of the original by a great deal. The action sequences sometimes lack sense and reason, but they don’t need it. This is “John Wick” at its greatest, and this bloodbath is truly a beautiful thing. A beautiful, beautiful thing.

Overall: “John Wick: Chapter 2” is what every action movie should aspire to be. A brilliant concoction of great choreography as well as creative set pieces makes John Wick 2 the premier sequel. It improves upon everything that the original movie had – albeit less animal killing. This is the premier action movie series, and I can’t wait for the explosive finale to arrive.

98% This is what Every Action Movie should Aspire to be.
