Waves Tennis Has High Hopes for New Season
February 6, 2017
With the MSMS Tennis Team’s first match coming February 28 against Aberdeen,, the Blue Waves tennis season is in full swing.
Practice near Vita field has been taking place for the last couple of weeks.
One of the tennis team’s captains, Noah McKone, shared optimism about this season. “I am looking forward to this year of tennis. With the experience of the seniors and the skill from the new juniors, this year’s MSMS tennis team has a lot of potential,” McKone said.
“Morgan (Co-Captain) and I have already started hosting practices at the courts and we have a great turnout of people each time which is great because that means everyone on the team wants to work hard and get better and that makes the coaches and the captain’s job ten times easier,” McKone added.
McKone is hoping that the team finds enough success to push past the regular season and into the playoffs. “Our goal this year is to stay district champs and for every individual team to make it to state and make it into the 2nd or 3rd round, and honestly, with all the talent and work ethic I believe this MSMS tennis team can become a powerhouse it if we continue to work hard and practice on our skills daily,” McKone said.
