The Deal with Transcripts
September 5, 2016
If you have ever gone through the process of applying to MSMS or are in the process of applying, the requirements for admission might be pretty familiar. A complete transcript detailing courses will be required, whether a traditional school or a home school. Future students applying to MSMS will see a change in the process.
Every high school, not just MSMS, requires theses transcripts when transferring schools, according to Director for Academic Affairs Kelly Brown, who explains the significance of a report: “We need to have the transcript or record from the home school or from their home schooling, if they do it through home schooling, before they come so that we can make sure that all of the admission requirements are met.
“Unfortunately, what happens is, we request those, but the schools don’t give them to us so right now, we’re still in process of trying to get all of those records from schools sent to us and we have sent three and four requests, they still have not sent those to us,” Mrs. Brown said.
It is evident that a student’s complete transcript is very important at MSMS when trying to place the student in classes, so attention falls in getting the compulsory documents in on time. Ms. Brown added, “In the past, we have just dealt with that as we’ve gotten it. Starting next year, we will change that policy so that all of that has to be turned in prior to Move-In Day.”
New students’ transcripts will be due two weeks prior to Move-In Day.
