Five Blue Waves are seeking internal input from students on two local universities’ long-term proposal to house MSMS and are expected to share their findings with the Mississippi Department of Education.
Senior Seth Armstead and juniors Izzy Rushing, Zander Dennison, Sasha Harvey and Landon Strong issued a poll to the entire student body Monday [March 3], seeking students’ opinions on both proposals. They asked participants to complete the survey, which is sponsored by The Vision, before 4:30 p.m. today [March 4].
Junior Izzy Cecil, who is a member of the MDE Student Advisory Council, is expected to share the findings with the State Board of Education.
“Students are the people who understand MSMS in this situation,” Harvey said. “Not only are we taking the classes, we decided to leave our [homeschools]. [The five of us] wanted to accurately demonstrate the student body’s opinion.”
The Vision will update this story with survey results once they’re compiled and analyzed.
