Goen Hall residents will move into the residence hall on Nov. 15, MSMS Executive Director Ginger Tedder announced Tuesday via email.
Due to Goen Hall’s delayed renovation progress, students were temporarily placed in Jones Hall — an MUW residential hall — until completion. After a nearly five-month project beginning in May, Tedder announced the building is almost ready for students to move in.
“The interior of Goen is being painted now, and that is the last phase before we move back,” Tedder said in the email.
The project will include new showers, bathroom lights, door handles and a repainted interior to match Frazer Hall. Additional renovations are anticipated for the summer of 2025.
“I’m excited to move back into Goen, but I’m a little bit exhausted,” senior Ava Ngyuen said.
While having never resided in Goen Hall, some juniors said they shared the same sentiment.
“I’m really happy that we get to move back, and I’m excited to see what [MSMS] prepared for us,” junior Claire Rhee said.
Classes will be dismissed to allow Goen residents to transition from Jones Hall to Goen Hall.
“We are excited to welcome you back to Goen soon, and we hope you enjoy the changes,” Tedder said. “Thank you for your patience as the building project has progressed.”
