MSMS Hosts Fall Preview Day

When the leaves start falling, and the temperatures start dropping,MSMS students start to anticipate Fall Preview Day. The afternoon event is when prospective students come to MSMS to tour the campus, observe classes that are in session, and talk to the students at the school and the teachers who are not having class at the moment. This year, Fall Preview Day was on Friday, Nov. 6.

Emissaries play a big role during the process of fall preview day. They are the ones to walk the tour groups around campus, answer any questions that are asked, and explain anything about the school that can be explained.

“When I was in 10th grade,  I remember taking the tour of the building, eating in the cafeteria, and meeting new and interesting people. It is because of that that I applied here,” Ari Jefferson, an MSMS senior, said. Fall Preview Day is one of the make-or-break moments for an applicant. It will, at most times, encourage prospective students to complete the application and hope for the best.

Some current applicants and students, however, are not aware of Fall Preview Day. “I didn’t even know Fall Preview Day existed until it now,” Larry Stokes, an MSMS junior, said. “If I would have know, I would like to believe that I would have attended.”

“It seems as if Fall Preview Day is more of a local thing. Not many people near the Delta know about it,” Sara Conwell, an MSMS senior, stated.

For the numerous students who attended this year, more personal information from current students and teachers was offered at Fall Preview Day.
